General Good Practices for Dust Management
To wrap up this module, let’s have a quick look at some general good practices that will help us control and manage the risks of RCS dust.

- Avoid unnecessary dust exposure, restrict access to dust exposed areas and spaces to authorized personnel.
- Plan ahead to ensure workspaces are safe and equipment is functional
- Use ventilation systems (natural or mechanical) to reduce airborne dust. If possible, carry out a task outdoors rather than in an enclosed area
- Use devices with an integrated water system to suppress dust in processes
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for the duration of the task
- Don’t use a dry brush — use a vacuum or wet cleaning methods instead
- Don’t use a dry brush or compressed air to clean up dust
- Don’t take dirty work clothes or PPE home
- Don’t use damaged PPE
- Don’t smoke or eat in the process areas of your workplace
